He started his programme to bring Harijans to the main fold prior to the political entrance of Mahatma Gandhi. He was born in 1887 at Pithapuram. He learned Oriental languages like Arabi, Parsi learned English.He started his writing at the age of 18 years are match to Shakesperean writings.

This year the prestigious Hussain Award - 2008 is given to noted Journalist Shri Turlapati Kutumba Rao. For the last 63 years this award has been giving by Shri Viswa Vignana Vidya Adhyamika Peetam.

This is established in the name of Omar Alisha the great poet. and the peetam founded 800 years ago. Omar alisha is the 6th Guru and grand son of Omar Alisha. "Omar Alisha" the 9th distributed the award to Sri Turlapati Kutumba Rao.
